Ely's Mill has survived the recent Gatlinburg Fires. We are extremely grateful for all of your thoughts and prayers. We are currently open but will be closing for the season on December 12th. We look forward to seeing you again in the spring.
Welcome to a bit of mountain history. In its natural setting alongside the beautiful Roaring Fork creek, the mill features local crafts, antiques, and honey (seasonally) as well as two over-night rental cabins and now accomodating small party weddings and group/individual photo shoots.
Built as a tourist attraction in the late 1920s, Ely's Mill is one of the few remaining pieces of "Old Gatlinburg". Privately owned, it is still run by the original family who live on site. While the Waterwheel no longer turns, the place is being restored on our easy "pay as you go" plan with hopes of one day having it work again. In the mean time, the mill is still a vibrant reminder of days gone by. Come visit.
We now have this wonderful whimsical gate done by some local folks at ornamentalgateworksetc.com. They did an amazing job of creating a gate that just fits the mill. Could have done a technical restoration of an old gate we had but we aren't a "dead" place. We keep growing and having fun. Come check it out!
